Following the closure of the restaurants, they have put in place sauerkraut to take away, hearty and excellent as usual. The organization for take-out is top notch, we will be back.

All Lyonnais know the Brasserie Georges, and not only Lyonnais, so much the tour operators have put this institution on the menu of their visits to Lyon, to the point of having whole buses pouring their streams of tourists there. But that was before. Before the onset of COVID. Today, on certain weekends, it is possible to go buy some of the specialties of the place, with the most efficient organization, respecting health standards and at low prices. Takeaway. An excellent welcome upon arrival. You are guided to choose your dishes, while respecting the sanitary rules, a good atmosphere and certainly a delicious meal! If another takeout is organized we will go back!

Good service, spacious and very nice restaurant. Many dishes to choose from and a good price. The meats what I liked the most.

Emblematic brasserie of Lyon, I let myself be tempted by a sauerkraut that disappointed me neither in terms of quality nor quantity (as is the case). The service was perfect. A bit noisy, but that's part of the charm of the place.

Unmissable place, brasserie with all its superb architecture, art deco, as in this brasserie side with the broom of the waiters, the noise level of the discussions. The dishes are good varied served fairly quickly. It is absolutely necessary to book to avoid waiting. Place where all ages, social circles meet and share a nice moment. To redo.

Mandatory visit to this establishment whose reputation is well established, but reservations are preferable. We had a great evening in a fabulous setting, impeccable and smiling service and a lot of choice on the menu at a fair price! A delicious dinner interspersed with birthdays heralded by the music box fetish which makes the atmosphere even warmer as everyone applauds.

The Georges brewery! An institution in Lyon, a must for locals and tourists alike, quality dishes, top service, for me it is a place to eat. My preference would be for the living room rather than the large room (a bit noisy) but it's a brasserie so that's just how I feel. From starter to dessert, everything is homemade with local products.

We decided to dine here after suggested from a colleague and we were very happy to try some amazing dishes. The food is amazing, just a bit expensive, but the staff barely speaks English, so a bit disappointing from this point of view. There are a lot of tables, so the waiters don't focus only on you, but on a lot of other tables as well (that's why sometimes they miss the costumer service skills). Overall a good experience!

Excellent welcome, excellent food and in quantity for a completely normal price. Excellent house beers. Magnificent room. Brasserie Georges is an excellent restaurant and has been for so many years. Thank you to the staff for their good humor and professionalism during this difficult period.

Providing a totally perfect, fast and warm service, in the current context, is the demonstration of a true Lyonnaise culture of the restaurant. Needless to say, the quality of the food served is of course above all average. In short, historical excellence insensitive to all contexts. Well done !

A mythical and magnificent place! Hyper available, numerous and pleasant servers. Delicious liver terrine. On the other hand, the beer-washed Munster didn't convince me, € 24 to € 27 for the menu, but no regrets!

An emblematic place like the city of Lyon. The great room is superb. But the noise level is too high, and the servers too stressed (effect of the mask?). To finish the flagship menu, sauerkraut, is not exceptional. But perhaps too much I was too influenced by the cuisine of my Alsatian mother ...

This brasserie is a real institution, a place to discover if you are passing through Lyon. The dishes are plentiful and good. The servers are pleasant and efficient. It is best to book if you want to come in a group.

The Georges brasserie is the Georges brasserie! An institution in Lyon since 1836. The decor is captivating as is the atmosphere. It should be noted, however, that the quality of the dishes has dropped somewhat.

A must-do-table in Lyon. Inside historic architecture, service is really professional and over the top, cuisine is traditional modern. You can go with no doubt in any circumstances business, private, family dinner or date. Be aware there might be only minor choices for vegans like.

Best brasserie, period

The waiter didn’t find the booking at first, our food came after 1,5 hour. On the other hand, the food was good and restaurant’s interior was nice.

The best experience ever... I will never forget this day September 8 because its my birthday ?????

If there were more than 5 ⭐, I would have put more. We traveled 480 km with a friend, just to eat in this brasserie! I don't regret it. If we had to do it again, we would do it again. We came on 07/25 in the evening. We were seated just to the left at the entrance. Excellent service from the chef de rang. We come from the restaurant business, and it is fair to say that the service was perfect! I took a veal strawberry andouillette with mash. Just by the taste of the first bite, I immediately saw the homemade mash. The chef de rang who is from 77 us, was pleasant, friendly, smiling. I recommend this restaurant of course, and hope you get the same service as us.

The baba is a bit dry and old, but the salade and sausage is pretty good and rich in favor.

A very popular establishment, so plan to wait a bit, as reservations are not possible, but you can sit on the terrace and have an aperitif. However, very rude bartenders who look down on customers which gives a very bad first impression. Fortunately the waiters were there to raise the bar, a big thank you to Paul and David. An essential address to taste the gastronomy of Lyon!

Nice. Beautiful architecture. Good food

I loved ! The authentic setting plunges us into a joyful and very dynamic atmosphere to taste typical dishes, well garnished and really delicious! This beautiful historic brewery should not be missed! You will not be disappointed !

Very nice brasserie and very warm welcome. Very attentive waiter. The dishes are very generous and delicious. The royal sauerkraut is a delight. We arrived at 4 pm and were very well seated. Barrier measures are respected. If you go to Lyon a detour is to be made.

Really really wonderful food and nice setting. However, the waiters were quite rude. Maybe they were over worked or badly managed. But the food was so lovely that it made up for the rudeness.

very poor service and food

I had the menu today. €24.5 with starter, main dish and dessert. Its my second time visiting Brasserie George. Its one of my favourite restaurant in Lyon.

Interesting atmosphere. Simple good food with no fuss. I loved the grilled sea bass with risotto and asparagus. Do avoid the traditional onion soup. That’s not good at all.

Fantastic experience

This was my 1st ever visit in France and i was lucky to visit Brasserie Georges. I was impressed by the amazing interior and food was even better. All served by professional and helpful staff. This is this kind of experience you are going to remember for a long time. How busy this place was just proof that they do a really great job there in all aspects. Highly recommend to visit while you are in the area. Hope i will have a chance to enjoy this place once again.

Great place for rustic traditional dishes and beer which is brewed in-house.

walked in to this place for lunch without research, which embraced an absolute surprise! At first, it is obvious that this place is a high volume restaurant therefore I was assuming it would be like hofbrauhaus in Munich where they focus into quality of cuisine rather than service! However, the fact turns out to be not the same, service was extremely helpful and attentive while cuisine were perfectly cooked! delivery were slow but forgivable since it was high volume after all! Make sure to try their house beer which is a bit sweet, very interesting!

Nice food and beer. But too crowded and have to wait for free table

A friend told me that everyone in Lyon both knows and eats at Brasserie Georges. I believe him. This was incredible. The ambiance itself is marvelous. We are lunch here and truly enjoyed ourselves. I ate the salmon and it melted in my mouth. Absolutely perfect. Everything that we chose was superb, most of which was the Sauerkraut. In the end, it is not expensive for what you get and it is an experience that everyone visiting Lyon should take.
